At Pet Refuge, every pet’s journey to recovery begins with creating calm, and securing trust. For pets like *Pumpkin, this starts the moment we pick them up. Our expert team ensures every journey is as comfortable as possible, with blankets, treats, and gentle care to help pets feel secure during transport.

When Pumpkin arrived at the Pet Refuge shelter, she was tentative of her new surroundings and the people she didn’t know, but with patience the team were able to earn her trust.

On average, we complete 24 transport trips each month*, including journeys to pick up pets, and to reunite them with their families. After a few months in our care, Pumpkin was reunited with her Lydia* to a new region where they could be safe together.

Lydia’s message to the team was heartwarming:

"Thank you so much for all your help over the past few months. We will never forget your kindness. Pumpkin will always have special memories of you and everyone who looked after her at the shelter. We are forever grateful! We can’t imagine how our journey would have been without your help. You made it easier during such a difficult time. Everyone at Pet Refuge will always be on my hero list — we are so thankful for your kindness. May happiness and blessings always be with you."
